Rev. Ed Norton
I was raised in the mountains of Virginia, and graduated from the Fishburne Military School in Waynesboro. After high school, I attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina for a year, before completing my degree at Mississippi State University, in Starkville, Mississippi.
I became a believer in my sophomore year at Mississippi State. It was during this time that my call into Christian ministry would become real and tangible. Upon graduation I attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, and graduated with a Masters in Christian Education in 1979, and later, a Master of Divinity in 1987. Concurrent with my studies at seminary I joined the 172ndAir Wing of the Mississippi Air National Guard, as a First Lieutenant. I was a Medical Service Corps Operations Officer and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2000.
During my years in ministry I have served several churches including, First Presbyterian Church, Jackson, Mississippi, Highlands Presbyterian Church, Madison, Mississippi and twice I have had the privilege of serving Independent Presbyterian Church (1974-1976 and 1997 to present).
I have been married to my wonderful wife, Sally, for over thirty years. We have three grown children. Evan, a CPA working in Nashville, TN. Clarke, a short term missionary with Mission to the World, Lviv, Ukraine. Halley and her husband, Ford Williams, are the blessed parents of twins, Sally and Mary Kate. And Hazel, our nutty Golden Retiever!
