Rev. Robert Browning
Robert joined the staff as Executive Pastor in September of 2018. Born in Jackson, Tennessee, Robert moved to Memphis to attend Rhodes College, where he graduated with a BA in Political Science. Robert then joined the staff of Second Presbyterian Church as a youth director. While at Second Presbyterian, he met his wife Natalie and they married in 1997. Robert and Natalie have two wonderful children (Ric and Margaret Ann).
Robert then attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he earned his Masters of Divinity degree. While in school, he served as a Student Supply Pastor at Ebenezer A.R.P. In 2002, the Brownings moved back to Memphis, where Robert served as the campus minister for Reformed University Fellowship at the University of Memphis. In 2005, Robert was called as the Senior Pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi, where he served for thirteen years.
In addition to these roles, Robert has served as the Stated Clerk of Covenant Presbytery since 2009, and currently serves on the boards of Restoration Now and Bent-Tree ministries. He has also served on various committees of our denomination (PCA). In his spare time, Robert enjoys playing golf and cooking on his Big Green Egg. He is also a certified barbecue judge for the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest.
