Singing, Catechism, Games, and Fun!
BLAST! - Wednesday Nights (Fall & Spring) | 6:15-7:30 p.m.
Wednesday Nights our K-5th Graders participate in BLAST! (Building Lives Around Sound Truth) from 6:15-7:30 pm. Combining choir and catechism seeking to give children a firm Biblical foundation so that they may grow to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. (Matthew 22:37).
Through children’s choir your child will have the unique opportunity of training in a skill that they will use as Christians throughout eternity in heaven: worship through music. (Rev. 5:13-14) Elementary music directors use well- crafted anthems, theory games, movement activities, and performance experience—all in a positive environment—to lead children toward greater musicianship and musical worship leadership in order to praise God.
Through children’s catechism your child will learn the New City Catechism which seeks to teach children giving them a coherent and extensive system of thought that equips them to confidently interpret the world and their experiences in the world through a biblical framework (Proverbs 22:6). Coupling interactive memory games and other activities with “the practice of question & answer recitation brings instructors and students into a naturally interactive, dialogical process of learning” (Tim Keller).
Fusing choir and catechism together is an enriching experience as we grow to love our Lord and Savior through learning, games, singing and activities. Join us as we all BLAST off into God’s word and worship him together!
