Mature Adults ~ Malone Community

ALL ARE WELCOME TO THIS COMMUNITY, BUT IT IS PRIMARILY FOR AGES 60 AND UP. THERE ARE TWO SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES THAT MEET FROM 9:45-10:45 A.M.

Mike Malone | The Foundations Class |  Room 237

THE FOUNDATIONS CLASS IS BEGINNING A NEW STUDY IN 1 PETER
Living As Aliens in a Hostile World
How do we live in a world that is increasingly detached from the influences of the Christian gospel? How do we relate to our culture, government, neighbors, workplaces?  What does marriage look like? What does the church look like? And who are we, anyway? How do we think of ourselves? How do we live with joy and hope in the midst of a world that seems to be coming apart? Peter has much to say about these things as he writes to young Christians scattered across what is now northern Turkey. These young Christians are living in a world and culture not yet benefitting from the influences of the gospel.  And yet they are experiencing a “joy inexpressible and full of glory” (1 Peter 1:8). How? As Edmund Clowney puts it, “Peter writes of a sure hope, a hope that holds the future in the present because it is anchored in the past.” This letter gives substantive and practical guidance to us as aliens and strangers, sojourners living in a sometimes very hostile world.  Join us!

Jurey Howard and Ray Wilson | The Westminster Class | Room 233

THE WESTMINSTER CLASS IS BEGINNING A NEW STUDY ON EPHESIANS.
Second only to the Book of Romans as a carefully written presentation of Christian theology, the Book of Ephesians, one of Paul's "Prison Epistles," bears witness to the riches we have in Christ from which we may draw upon to live our lives.  Come join Ray Wilson and Jurey Howard as they lead the Class through this wonderful apostolic letter.
Though the Westminster Class is listed under the Mature Adults Community, throughout the last 25 years, pilgrims of all ages—couples and singles—have fellowshipped in our holy gathering on Sunday mornings.
