Within the Mature Adults Community, there are three Sunday School classes. The Norton Class, The Foundations Class, and the Line by Line Class. Please read below for more information.

The Norton Class

9:45a • Chapel • Rev. Ed Norton, Teacher

The Norton Community is primarily for those in their 50s and 60s. This community is led by
Rev. Ed Norton, with Shepherding Elders Cannon Allen, Hugh Francis III, Stephen Guenther, Bo Mitchum, and Matt Olson. Throughout December, we’ll have a series of guest speakers. Join us!

December 11 | “The Gracious Work of God In My Life” | Sara Lucas
Sara is a woman who has worshipped her way through her cancer diagnosis. Come hear her testimony concerning her walk of faith.

December 18 | Christmas Carol Congregational Singing | Jennifer Velázquez
Come celebrate Christmas with various Scriptures and the “Carols” of the Christmas Season. We will be encouraged by Jennifer on the Chapel organ and piano, alongside several members of the IPC Choir.

December 25 & January 1 | Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! | No Class

In addition to two Sunday School offerings, the Norton Class has topical Bible studies that meet on Wednesday Evenings from 6:30–7:30 p.m. throughout the fall and spring, plus additional small groups that meet at other times during the week. Please call Ed Norton, (901) 461-8206, if you are interested in joining a small group.

The Foundations Class

9:45a • Room 237 • Rev. Mike Malone and Rev. Ford Willians, Jr., Teachers

One of several classes in the Mature Adult Community, The Foundations Class is shepherded by many ruling elders and by Rev. Mike Malone and Rev. Ford Williams, Jr. The Foundations Class meets from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in Room 237. Come join us this Advent season as we look at poetry by George Herbert, especially hymn texts that focus on the coming of the Messiah. There is no age or station-in-life requirement to join and enjoy our group.

In addition to Sunday School, the Foundations Class also gathers for fellowship, food, and fun at other times throughout the year, including luncheons, dinners, guest speakers, field trips, and Christmas parties. For more information: Email
