Pastoral Associate
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Ford grew up in Jackson and Hazlehurst, MS. He attended Millsaps College and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BA in Art. After graduating from Reformed Theological Seminary/Jackson, he was ordained to the gospel ministry at First Presbyterian Church, Cleveland, MS, where he served as assistant pastor and as campus minister for Westminster Fellowship at Delta State University. Following his three years in Cleveland, he spent three months at Swiss L’Abri and became engaged to Martha Caldwell a day after his return. Married on March 15, 1975, they landed in Starkville, MS, two months later, where he started Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at Mississippi State University, having been involved in the founding of RUF the previous year. He started Grace Presbyterian Church there and was called as its second pastor. He also served as pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church, Jackson, TN, for four years before his 19-year ministry as associate pastor at Riveroaks PCA in Germantown. After Riveroaks, Ford served as interim pastor for 20 months at Covenant PCA in Jackson, TN, and as interim pastor at Trinity Reformed Church in Rossville TN, for a year. He and Martha are the grateful parents of Ford III (Halley), Mary Catherine Hewitt (Tim), and Douglas (Jessica), and the grandparents of seven grandchildren. He enjoys good food, a good joke, walking, traveling, reading Christian books, and spending time with family and friends. He is very thankful for God’s goodness to him throughout his life as well as for being a part of the IPC pastoral staff.
