Associate Pastor ~ Middle Adults
Parker was born and raised in Memphis and loves this city! He graduated from Briarcrest Christian School in 1996 and attended Christian Brothers University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000.
Feeling the Lord leading him into ministry, he explored that calling through an internship with Reformed University Fellowship at the University of Mississippi. After living in Oxford, Mississippi, for two years and seeing the Lord use him in a pastoral context, Parker felt a calling upon his life concerning full-time ministry. He was encouraged to pursue it and attend seminary. In 2003, he began Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. While there, Parker served Covenant Presbyterian Church as a youth ministry assistant. He graduated in 2006 with a Master of Divinity.
Eager to serve Reformed University Fellowship, Parker accepted his first call to ministry as the RUF campus minister at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Parker and his wife, Ashley, moved to the Sonoran Desert during the summer of 2006 and started working for RUF. Parker loved ministering in the southwest, where he and Ashley experienced the LORD’s amazing grace and power as they served the students at Arizona. After serving there for four years, Parker received a call from Richie Sessions (IPC Senior Pastor from 2009–15) asking him to explore returning to Memphis and serving IPC. Loving Memphis and always longing to be back around family and friends, Parker and Ashley accepted the position. They moved back to Memphis in June 2010, where they have been serving ever since, originally with young adults and now with middle adults.
Married in 2002, Parker and Ashley have four children: Parker, Elizabeth, Abe, and Cate.
